Spider Man DLC Announcements Receiving Backlash

It comes out pretty darn close to launch.

While there is a ton of excitement behind the new Spiderman release coming this year, there was some recent news that rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way. The devs have announced the dates for DLC post-launch. The DLC will be coming to us in three chapters, with all three running you around $25 or you can buy them individually at $10. All three chapters of the DLC dubbed The City That Never Sleeps are also included in the Deluxe Edition of the game.

The first chapter in the bunch, The Heist, will be released October 23 and feature Felicia Hardy as the Black Cat. No, not Cat Woman but she's as close as Marvel could get without layers breathing their necks. Each chapter will be chock full of new content, such as new story missions, enemy factions, Spidey suits and challenges to overcome. We don't have full details on the other two chapters, but they will be released in November and December respectively.

So why might the fans be against the announcement of even more Spiderman adventures to come? Well as you can imagine, some think this is just cut content from the game itself being announced so close to release. After all, it is frustrating to pay $60 for the base game, only to spend more money in order to experience all that Spiderman has to offer. At this point, if you do want the DLC, you might as well buy the Deluxe Edition, as it will save you $5 in the long run. The main issue comes from the first chapter of DLC releasing only a month away from the initial release. Something seems a bit fishy.

Games aren't cheap to make though, and you will have to cough up some extra cash to dive all the way in on this new Spiderman experience, releasing on September 7, 2018.
