Spider-Man Devs Talk About Pre-Orders and DLC

It all sounds pretty good, so far.

The upcoming Spider-Man game is on everyone's minds as of late. The Insomniac Games-developed title recently had its release date announced, and now the developer's Twitter is talking about other details of the game, such as DLC and pre-order bonuses.

If you preorder Spider-Man, you are rewarded with a special outfit pack as soon as you can change outfits (implying that the option won't be available immediately). Those who don't pre-order aren't going to miss out, however. The outfits given to them will still be unlockable via gameplay. We also learn that the voice acting will remain the same between outfits, even if they represent different in-universe characters.

We also learn that the post-launch content, a trio of story missions called The City That Never Sleeps, will not only be available for Collector's Edition and Digital Deluxe Editions of the game, but as purchasable DLC for those opting for the standard edition. The pricing of said DLC remains unknown.

Insomniac hasn't confirmed or denies the existence of a season pass, only to "stay tuned." They did confirm a PS4 theme available with digital downloads, and that it should appear later this summer.

The game will be playable without an internet connection (a shame this needs to be confirmed, really). When asked about further details, Insomniac stated: I mean E3 is a thing. So we can expect to see more in June.

Marvels Spider-Man releases on September 7, exclusively for PS4.
