Dear Sonic the Hedgehog,

Happy Birthday! Though we may have fallen out of touch recently these past few years, I have fond memories of you. You are still often on my mind. Remember when you, Tails, and I kept drowning in that polluted ocean? Good times. Listen, I apologize for not attending your 25th birthday party. I hope you understand. It's no secret that every time we've crossed paths in recent years, it's been kind of awkward. It just seemed as if you had fallen in with a bad crowd. It wasn't pretty, and I just couldn't bare to see you that way. But a friend of mine told me that he saw you last night, and that you were looking well. That it seemed like you had gone back to how you were before.

That's great news! Though, I am cautiously optimistic about it. I hate to be a stickler, but you've made promises like that before. And also, I don't know why you feel you have to go all the way back to your Genesis. Don't get me wrong, those were fun times. I just feel like you really found yourself during your grand adventures. You learned a lot of new things and met many new friends. I know some people complained about you in that time, but I think they just feared change. Why not consider finding those roots again?

Oh, that's right! You're going back to all the things that worked in the past. It's nice to see you've dropped that silly style you picked up lately. And you know what? You actually do look better. You look a lot like your old self. But I am still wary, Sonic. I played Generations. I was there for that. Not for long, but I was there. It just didn't quite work. But, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. For old times' sake, I'm rooting for you. I wish the best for you, Sonic the Hedgehog. Never forget that.

Sincerely,
Cryptastic
