Overwatch Set to Have Chinese New Year Event

A new, full event! And so soon, too!

Overwatch's Christmas event has only just ended, and we already have a new one coming up. According to a recent tweet by the official Overwatch Twitter, Overwatch will be celebrating Chinese New Year soon. And I mean really soon. The launch date for the event is set for January 24. That means this will happen less than a month after the event before.

So far, the star of the event is that Mei gets a brand new legendary skin. This is good news for Mei enthusiasts who were disappointed by her Christmas skin (see: all of them). We were told in a previous developer diary that we can expect to see a new, suitable skin for Mei at the start of the new year. And it looks like Blizzard fully delivered.

Images have also been shown of D.VA rocking a new, surely legendary skin as well. That's definitely a relief. Up until now, D.VA has seen very little love when it comes to new skins. Despite some of the skins we've seen in the past, Mei and D.VA's upcoming skins definitely look like Blizzard put a lot of work into them.

I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see what else the year of the rooster has for us.
