With Wildfest underway, the Hearthstone team has announced that the upcoming yearly season will be the Year of the Raven! To excite you all, a couple of new features have been announced alongside this debut. For those who are unaware, new years in Hearthstone mark a new set for their Standard format with the previous year's expansions entering the Wild format. Whispers of the Old Gods, One Night in Karazhan and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan are all making their way out the door.

The more exciting of these announcements is that Ice Block, Coldlight Oracle, and Molten Giant are all going to be placed into the Hall of Fame and will no longer be used to prevent death or fatigue your opponent. One added bonus to the Year of the Raven is the new Druid hero Lunara. In World of Warcraft lore, she is the first daughter of Cenarius and the protector of the forests of Azeroth. Any player who wins 10 games in the new Standard format will earn this hero, so expect almost everyone to be using Lunara in the coming years.

Lastly, the new year will bring about in-game tournaments. This was not available beforehand, but now, anyone can make their own tournament with friends without getting Blizzard involved. So pick up your Hearthstone cards and have fun with those soon-to-go cards like Raza and Jade!
