Hearthstone recently enjoyed a big ol' patch, which brings about the usual selection of bug fixes and updated art, but on top of the stuff we've come to expect, there's one more new feature bein' thrown into the mix: a brand-new hero!

Now, Blizzard introduced new heroes for the nine classes in Warcraft a long time ago, but they've been met with less-than-critical success. While a few people have been more than willing to shell out 10 dollars for a slight cosmetic update and nine new lines of dialogue (LET THE HUNT BEGIN), for others, who viewed this as a shameless cash-grab by the folks at Blizzard, it was kind of a slap to the face. After all, everything else in the game can, technically, be earned with hard work and skill, so forcing players to shell out cash was seen as a betrayal of the foundation of hearthstone

Well, Blizzard has been listening, and now, this brand-new Shaman character can be earned without having to pay out any of your hard-earned greenbacks. It's simple: all you have to do is refer a friend to Hearthstone, and when they reach a COMBINED character level of 20, you'll get Morgl the Oracle. And, once you've unlocked him, you can still refer friends to Blizzard's digital TCG and net 4 extra classic packs every time they hit the same milestone.

Even better, thanks to that gosh-darn unskippable tutorial, you'd better believe this is not a system that loans itself to abuse!

So, yeah. If you have friends who don't play Hearthstone, then you can refer them to the game and net your sweet prize, or you can do the decent thing and let them live their lives in blissful ignorance.

It's up to you.
