Everyone gets a TV show, apparently. Sony Pictures Television and Hivemind Entertainment have announced a collaboration to produce a live-action Final Fantasy 14 TV show.

Developed and published by Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIV is a popular MMO adaption of the world famous franchise. The TV show will be a live action representation of Eorzea, the setting of the game.

The press release explains that the story of the TV show will explore the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict. With magitek being a common theme in various Final Fantasy games, this comes as an expected creative decision. Few details were provided outside of this fact, however. Including when or where it will premiere.

There have been far too many video game movie adaptions announced over the last few years. Many of these announcements die before reaching publication, anyway. Just look at all of these announcements over the last 3 years.Sonic and Dragon Quest are actually coming to theatres. The rest remain to be seen.
