Eidos and Square Enix have been rather quiet about Deus Ex. For a while, we have wondered and waited for another chapter for platforms, but now the wait is over. Square Enix and Eidos have proudly unveiled Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the next game in the Deus Ex series.

Mankind Divided is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC; it uses the Dawn Engine, a recent engine build for only newest generation of consoles and PC. Amazingly enough, Mankind Divided will feature DirectX 12 support and AMD's TressFX for overwhelmingly beautiful hair.

As for the gameplay, plot, and setting?

Well, Mankind Divided takes place in 2029, two years after Human Revolution and the infamous 'Aug Incident' in Panchaea. Millions of non-augmented have died then, causing a large divide between the augmented and the non-augmented. Factions have since been attempting to change public opinion of augmentation to further their own desires.

Adam Jensen, a super-augmented former biotech company security chief, returns as the protagonist, wielding all new augmentations. Throughout the course of the game, social and political tensions increase, which beckon Adam to interfere - but is it possible for him to interfere?

According to David Anfossi, Head of Studio for Eidos-Montreal:

"For 15 years, Deus Ex has been a point of conversation across the games industry and beyond, whether the topic is the franchise's unique gameplay or topical narrative focused on advanced biotechnology and human augmentation.

What began with Deus Ex: Human Revolution goes to a whole new level in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, diving even deeper into this discussion and, in turn, offering fans an all-encompassing experience, one which will challenge their skills as players and emphasize decision-making based on real world topics."

The release date is to be announced sometime in the future.

In the meantime, you can check out the developer commentary and details in Game Informer's May issue, and you can also watch the undeniably gorgeous trailer below.
