Today I was able to sit down and talk with Josh Myers, lead developer of the new game Fan the Sea. After seeing the gameplay trailer he recently released for his project, I wanted the opportunity to ask him a few questions.  If you want to learn about the game, I encourage you to watch the video down below. You truly won't be disappointed. Though the video is mainly about the game itself, this article will be more centered around the production of it. Without further ado, let's get into things here.

Josh's area of expertise is in writing scripts. He came up with the entire storyline, complete with quests, dialogue, and AI encounters. Going into the project, he knew very little about writing code and slowly began to learn Java. The game is currently being created with RPG Maker, and despite the bad reputation of the program, Fan the Sea is shaping up to be an incredible game. He's hoping to raise funds on his Kickstarter page so he can hire a stronger dev team and either get the game completely out of RPG Maker or have custom artwork and tilesets so people can see that this is much more than RPG Maker garbage. At the time this article is posted, Fan the Sea is currently sitting at $2,821 / $10,000.

Josh believes that with the $10,000 goal, he'll be able to create an incredible game. His stretch goals past 10k include an iOS and Android version of Fan the Sea, a free DLC to expand upon the main story, and dialogue translation. The game is also fighting for a spot on Steam Greenlight. Honestly, Fan the Sea looks incredible and it's just so unique. I'll be absolutely shocked if they don't reach their Kickstarter goal because there really is just so much potential.
