Ubisoft Promises to Deliver "Women everywhere"

Ubisoft isnt in a good spot right now when it comes to women, have you noticed?  First there was Assassins Creed Unity's decided lack of female avatars when the game was hyped for its multiplayer, and then there was Far Cry 4.  Far Cry 4 didnt get as much attention as the Assassins Creed debacle did, but it was still observedfairlythat there were multiple playable characters in that game and they all had penises.  But according to Ubisoft, just because you cant play any female characters doesnt mean there wont be any in the game: in fact, to directly quote Far Cry 4's creative director Alex Hutchinson, its Packed to the gills with women.

The quote in full is as follows;

"[We] tried very hard to make sure of the four main antagonists, half of them are women, which is cool. On your side, one of the main leaders of the rebel faction is a woman, half the rebels that fight with you are women. It's packed to the gills with women. They're everywhere, just like life.

Good news, but kind of reeks of desperation, doesnt it?  But it would make sense if they were desperate, considering how much crap theyve gotten for this whole mess, so one can hardly fault them for it.  Besides, he had more to share about the game than just the addition of women: he went on record clarifying that the main antagonist, Pagan Min, is defiantly not the main characters father.

"We didn't want a villain who's just shaking his fist at you and threatening to kill you and murder your family, and the inevitability of you shotgunning him in the face. And neither did we want someone who didn't know you at all. We wanted you to actually sort of have a secret history in this country."

Thats a little more interesting. I wouldnt say Far Cry was ever well known for its engaging plots, so it would be cool to see a bit more story worth talking about in Far Cry 4.  But time will tell.
