The Stranger Things Content in Dead By Daylight is Leaving Soon

Leaving the store that is, save for the map.

Dead By Daylight has become a Hall of Fame showcase for classic horror movies and monsters. But they cant keep them all, it seems. The Stranger Things content will be leaving storefronts soon.

Back in late 2019, the popular asymmetrical multiplayer horror game announced a collaboration with Netflix to include a Stranger Things update. This introduced protagonists Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington as survivor characters, the Demogorgon from Season 1 as a new Killer, and the Hawkins Lab as a new map.

While still currently available, all of these items will be removed from the Dead By Daylight store system on November 17, 2021. Details as to why they will be removed were not given. Its possible that the collaboration was only ever going to be a limited time option. Its also possible that either party involved decided to not renew their agreement for one reason or another.

If you already have the characters, dont worry, you won't lose them. The only thing actually leaving is the Hawkins National Laboratory map. The characters, costumes, and items will still be there. But after that date, no one can purchase them. To encourage as many folks to get in while the getting is good as they say, a 50% off sale is being held on all Stranger Things items in the month leading up to their storefront removal.

The game map, however, will be removed in general. This is likely due to being tied to characters and not the actual player.

All in all, response to this news has been mild. While the show was immensely popular, The characters (and especially the map) werent a smash hit within Dead By Daylight. As such, this announcement has been met with mild disappointment more than anything.
