It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Geoff Robinson, the professional Starcraft 2 player and commentator known as iNcontroL.

Robinson passed away unexpectedly on the night of Saturday, July 20, 2019, due to illness. The announcement was made on his official Twitter page the following Sunday evening.

"With immense grief, we announce Geoffs unexpected passing due to sudden illness Saturday. We ask privacy as his family works to understand what happened and make arrangements. To honor Geoff or offer comfort to his family, we suggest donations to @SoCalBulldog, which he loved.

Geoff is deeply loved across many communities and were all working to make sure his affairs are in order as hed want. BARRISTAN is safe in the care of friends, and family will share words of remembrance when they are ready. Lets live today in his example of love and laughter."

Raised in Seattle, Robinson participated in a small number of professional competitions for Starcraft 2 and Brood War. He's better known, however, for his community participation in the North American Starcraft scene. He co-founded the coaching site, Gosu Coaching, was a regular host on State of the Game, and would occasionally appear in professional matches and tournaments as a commentator.

The charity mentioned in the announcement is the Southern California Bulldog Rescue. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, re-homing, and rehabilitation of homeless English Bulldogs. More information about that can be found on their website. If you wish to make a donation in Robinson's honor, you can do so via their Donate page.

Our condolences go out to everyone affected by this. His passing was not one that people were prepared for and the RTS scene won't be the same without him.
