South Park: The Fractured But Whole has a lot in common with 2014’s The Stick of Truth: and I’m not just talking about the fact they’re the same series, same publisher, same characters, and direct follow-ups on one another. I’m also talking about the delays! The Fractured But Whole has been delayed twice already, while the Stick of Truth was delayed a number of times, but hoping to defy the legacy laid out by the first game, Ubisoft San Francisco, the new team behind the game’s development, has finally issued a release date for the troubled new title.

Which you can see in the latest trailer.

Looks like your typical South Park fare. Violence. Butts. Farting. Balls. And you can get it all, come October 17th, assuming there are no more delays. If you get this game, you’ll also get The Stick of Truth as a free download, and if you pre-order (ugh) you get access to an exclusive “in-game assistant”, Towelie.

So that’s cool. I suppose. The original game still has a 10/10 on Steam, so it’s certainly got a legacy to live up too. We’d probably feel better about that if a more renowned company were behind the wheel, but… what can you do?

Other than fart, I mean.
