If youre a soldier stationed in Fort Riley, Kansasor just a regular person in the area around Fort Riley, KansasIve got some good E3 news for you: Sony is bringing the show to YOU!

At PlayStation, were incredibly thankful of the service our troops provide each and every day. Sony wrote in its Playstation Blog, As a way to both honor and entertain our service men and women (We all need a bit of R&R sometimes!), were pleased to announce Salute To Our Troops

Starting the same day E3 starts (Monday, June 9th), Sony will be bringing around their giant Playstation Truck (Which is still currently traveling the country on its Road of Greatness tour) and giving soldiers and civilians alike the opportunity to play and preview dozens of Playstation 4 titles, as well as hear Sonys press conference live from E3.  There will be giveaways and contests held throughout, and the event will even start with a concert from country singer Ive never heard of, Brett Eldredge.

And the best part?  The whole things free and open to the public.  All you have to do is show up and you can be in on the action.   You can even watch the concert for free over the internet.

Why Fort Riley, you may be asking?  Turns out, theres a rather large gaming community in the area, especially in the fortwhere they have their own dedicated video game space called The Warrior Zone.  I guess it was popular enough to catch Sonys attention.

And thanks again to all active and retired military personnel. We are honored by your sacrifice. Sony concluded the post with.

Ultimately, Id say this is pretty cool of Sony.  I mean, sure, its mostly just a PR stunt, but it seems good natured and its more than Microsoft or Nintendo have planned, particularly since its free to anyone who might be in the area.  Probably not worth driving a week to attend, but its certainly worth a day trip.
