Overlooked in the daily excitement of western gaming culture, it was easy to miss that Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has already announced the winners of the PlayStation Awards 2018.

Unlike the voting system used in other awards, the PlayStation Awards chooses winners based on their sales numbers. Many could argue against such a method. I'm sure we all can agree that just because something is popular, it doesn't mean it's of a higher quality. But best-sellers are named so for a reason, all the same. Fortunately, they do have a Users Choice category to see what the gamers voted for. Here are the winners of the PlayStation Awards 2018.

Monster Hunter: World certainly looks like the overall top dog this year, understandably so. With the year coming to a close, we're seeing all of the various game award organizations bring out their list of winners. Later this week, we'll see the Game Awards, and whatever Obsidian is teasing for the event.
