With Persona getting all the love from Atlus, one might expect that theyve given up on the series that it first spun off from, Shin Megami Tensei. And while its true Persona will continue to probably get more marketing and attention, at least at Nintendos E3 event the big N showed us that they havent given up entirely on this old franchise: as they revealed the first trailer for a brand-new game in the series, Shin Megami Tensei 5, which looks exactly like you think itd look.

All the hits are there: using elemental weaknesses to beat difficult foes, recruiting demon pals and fusing them together to create the perfect team, a strange demon and angel infested otherworld where everything is trying to kill you, and a normal person turned not-so-normal by circumstances beyond their control. The only thing youre really missing is Dante from the Devil May Cry series.

It also looks like it would be really beautiful if it wasnt running on a Nintendo Switch. Awkward.

In any case, it comes out early November, so Im sure well have lots more chances to see more of this particular title.
