CedricBiscay, a Shenmue 3 developer, teased the 2018 release of the game on PlayStation 4 and PC, along with "many other surprises :)" on Twitter.

Shenmue 3, the long-anticipated RPG, has been on many gamers' "most wanted" list for years now. When it launched its Kickstarter, the $2 million goal was reached in only eight hours. Though since its announcement and Kickstarter campaign in 2015, not much has been heard regarding its development.

Originally intended to release in 2017, Director Suzuki delayed it into the latter half of 2018 for the following reason:

"By utilizing new technologies, we have been able to discover new possibilities and expressions. In many ways, the game has become bigger and more beautiful than I initially expected."

Other than the occasional statement and a trailer back in August, no solid details about the game have been clarified. Even now, we don't know much more, but the "many other surprises" have our interest. After a few years of nothing, followed by a delay announcement, I look forward to some good news about Shenmue 3.
