Shantae, the popular platforming genie is back at it again in Shantae 5, a new upcoming iteration on the series.

Shantae has been in the indie game market since its conception on the Game Boy Color in 2002. The franchise went on to produce three more titles: Risky's Revenge, The Pirate's Curse, and Half-Genie Hero. The developers also produced a Metroid-style platformer based on The Mummy reboot film called The Mummy Demastered. We actually reviewed that game when it released.

Shantae 5 was confirmed on Twitter by the official WayForward account. Later this year, the game will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Developers WayForward announced Shantae 5 alongside the reveal of Apple Arcade, so it'll be on that as well. Otherwise, that's all we know about the game at this time.

The company has pushed out classic after classic with every game. There's no doubt that Shantae 5 will be just as good.
