SEGA Teases New Sonic Racing Game

And I'm surprisingly hyped.

I'll be blunt, I didn't think I could be excited about a Sonic Racing game. While I've always been a fan of the main games, their spinoffs held little interest to me. SEGA managed to break that tendency with their latest teaser, coming out of the Sonic the Hedgehog panel at South by Southwest.

The 22-second long teaser video teases towards what we can only assume is a new Sonic Racing game. Consisting of engine shots, revving sounds, and a silhouette of a logo, We're stuck assuming the illuminated R stands for "racing." Even the title is simply called TOP SECRET.

Their past racing games, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, we both met with decent success. They felt more focused on the edgy nature of competition, whereas this teaser seems to draw more towards the intensity of high speeds. Is this a bold new direction towards the racing series? Only time will tell.
