You better not shout. You better not cry. You better not pout, I'm telling you why. Fortnite Season 7 is here, and Santa's army is right behind it.

Epic Games has begun Season 7 of everyone's favorite battle royale game. As the snowy tundra approaches, so does Santa Claus and his army of winter soldiers. Lore aside, this season brings with it a multitude of changes and new features. The Port-a-Fort has been put away, along with the shockwave grenade. We have new weapons, new items, and even an airplane.

Weapons and Items

Introducing the X-4 Stormwing Plane. This five-seater (pilot and four passengers) plane can navigate the map from the air. Attack with a mounted machine gun or jump out to reactivate their skydiving state. You can use the roll buttons for sharp turns or fly upside down by pressing both. Double tapping a roll button does a barrel roll.

Balloons have gone under the knife. Players can now use items and weapons while they're equipped. Using up to three of them, players will be lifted off the ground entirely with the third balloon. Pressing jump while in the air will remove one at a time. This does mean that the stack size has been reduced to 10, alas.

Map

A few new locations have appeared on the map. This includes Frosty Flights, Polar Peak, and Happy Hamlet. Snow covered areas will have icy surfaces, which cause slippage and sliding.

Zip lines have also appeared around the map, allowing players to quickly zip from one location to another. They can shoot and all that while doing so, of course.

Creative Mode

This new game mode gives the player their own island to do with as they please. The world state is automatically saved and can be returned back to. Each player can have four creative worlds, allowing up to four unique landscapes to form as they please. Players can also visit the worlds of friends and the community. Each world can be active in four-hour segments at a time.

In creative mode, players can use the "phone" to edit world objects and double jump to fly, allowing for greater creative freedom.

The Season 7 update also includes a number of bug fixes and performance updates. For more information on those, check out Epic's official patch notes.
