Like every game from the last two years, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The good news is that it's coming in less than a week. The bad news is that it's only for Japan as a digital-only release.

The announcement was accompanied by a video trailer, seen below, posted on the Resident Evil's Japanese YouTube channel. Labeled as "Biohazard 7: Resident Evil Cloud Version," it will be releasing on May 24, Thursday. The title is because the game runs on the cloud. The initial download only takes up 45 MB on your console, but you will need an internet connection in order to play the game in its entirety.

Initially found by Nintendo Everything, there will also be a free trial of the game, allowing users to play for 15 minutes before stopping them. After that, they have to pay ¥2,000 (about $18) in order to continue. They also reported that the game has already appeared in the Japanese eShop, and only Japanese is supported as a language.

Editor's Note: Keep in mind that this release is merely a rental. You'll only be able to access the license for 180 days, leaving this whole topic up for debate.

Like with most post-release versions, this game will automatically include all of the game's post-launch DLC, Banned Footage Volume 1 and 2, End of Zoe, and Not a Hero. Those in anywhere but Japan will have to be happy with their PC, PS4, or Xbox One versions of the game. There're 4 million copies of them, after all.
