PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Will Receive Less Frequent Updates

This isn't necessarily bad news.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been consistently improving thanks to timely patches and content updates from the developers over at Bluehole Studios, but according to a recent post on the PUBG steam page, the weekly and monthly updates will start to be less frequent moving forward.

"Until the official release of the game, we will not have our scheduled weekly or monthly patches rolling out as often as before,"

They explained that they've felt forced to release certain features and mechanics in the weekly and monthly patches that ultimately cause more issues and push the release date even further. By less frequently updating the game, they're going to make sure that every patch/update is completely polished, and on an "as needed basis".

"Weve found internally that being rushed to finish certain features, and having shorter QA test time between pushing updates caused more issues than it solved in regards to maintaining a high standard of quality. We want to put our best content out, and ensure that everything we do is making the game more enjoyable with every update."

Although we will be receiving less frequent updates, Bluehole has ensured us that this is all for the best quality gameplay experience, and it won't at all affect the release date. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is still set to release later this year, but like most early access games of this magnitude, that date could change at any time.

"We have a lot of work to do, and we want this game to be released with as many fun, rich, enjoyable features and mechanics as possible. Our team will continue to be hard at work, and we are always listening to your feedback."

A lot of work is almost an understatement. A whopping hot, steamy pile of work is a little more appropriate. We wish you luck Bluehole. Keep us on track.
