If the Nintendo Switch Online expansion didnt appeal to you so far, this might do the trick. The original Paper Mario is coming to the digital Nintendo 64 Library later this week.
Paper Mario holds a special place in countless peoples hearts. It was a family friendly, colorful, and engaging RPG based on the world of Super Mario. It took the popular platforming plumber, and game him a whole new, 2 dimensional style. Following the RPG format of Super Mario RPG, it established itself as a successful franchise that continues to produce new titles today.
The game will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online: Expansion Packs Nintendo 64 Digital Library on Friday, December 10. Currently, the pack offers a variety of N64 games, like StarFox 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and so on. It also introduces a Sega Genesis digital library.
Not everyone was fond of the expansion when it was announced. While requests for an N64 digital library were common, the expansion takes the $20 a year service, and raises more than double to $50. If you have the family plan, its even higher, at a whopping $80 a year. When the games are reaching 20+ years old, and with alternative method of play becoming easier, not as many folks were interested in paying at least $30 more a year to play these games. Adding other in-demand games helps make the price hike more understandable. But personally, its still a bit to expensive.
