Overwatch Welcomes New Hero: Orisa

After only a week of teasing!

Hey gamers! Happy Tuesday! Except, wait, it's totally not Tuesday at all. But that can't be right. Overwatch just saw a really beefy update, and Blizzard only updates the shooter on Tuesdays. But if that's the case, then why am I looking at a brand new hero? That's right, starting right this second, Overwatch gets a new hero to the PTR: Orisa.

This new hero comes after about a week of subtle teasing by Blizzard. The game developer giant seems to have learned its lesson from the Sombra ARG disaster, because Orisa barely got any coverage at all before release. Regardless, the new hero joins the tank classification, and it is fully expected to make Reinhardt less of a "must pick." Check out Orisa's kit below.
  • Fusion Driver: Orisa's automatic projectile cannon delivers sustained damage, but slows her movement while she fires it.
  • Fortify: Orisa temporarily reduces damage she takes, and cannot be affected by action-impairing effects.
  • Halt!: Orisa launches a graviton charge which she can detonate, slowing nearby enemies and pulling them towards the explosion.
  • Protective Barrier: Orisa throws out a stationary barrier that can protect her and her allies from fire.
  • Supercharger: Orisa deploys a device to increase damage inflicted by allies within her line of sight.
Needless to say, Orisa is definitely a tank. There's no other way to put it. It'll be really interesting to see how this new addition changes the meta. Will it rock the game like Ana did? Or will she be mostly forgotten, like Sombra? Only time will tell.

Be sure to stick around. After I give Orisa a try, we will definitely be featuring a video of her playstyle.
