An Overwatch anniversary event has been heavily suspected over the last couple of weeks and finally, Blizzard has come right out and announced it. Starting May 23rd, Overwatch fans around the world will be logging in to commemorate and celebrate arguably the best shooter of the year, and definitely the most innovative, inspiring and downright impactful games we've seen in a long time.

The Anniversary video not only gives thanks to the community for all the support we've given the game, but it also showcases how heavily Overwatch has affected people from all around the world. We get a look at how far Overwatch has come since its initial release just about a year ago, and we also get some insight into how its skyrocketed into the eSports scene. The video doesn't specify what we can expect with the event, but I think it's safe to say it will be something special. After all, Blizzard has yet to disappoint us thus far. Happy Anniversary Overwatch!
