No Spoiling BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Story - Or Else

That's a threat from the developer, not me.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle was launched yesterday, which is an exciting moment for fighting game fans and folks who are big into RWBY, Under-Night Birth, and Persona, as characters from all those series show up to participate in the clash.

Naturally, that means we can expect a lot of content from the game to be streamed, recorded, and produced by the audience, but Arc System Works, the developer behind it, has made it very clear that while they want players to be able to share their experience with the game, they should do everything in their power to avoid spoilers, or else.

"Just don’t. If you have to, very short clips of Episode Mode content up to Chapter 2 are permitted for video content only. Any longer clips, spoilers, or anything else is a danger area, so really, just avoid this all together."

Same applies for the music: the studio is putting its foot down against any straight soundtrack rips, which means you’ll need to buy it through the proper channels in order to jam to any hot tracks by themselves. And don’t go thinking you can worm your way around this, as the developer made it very clear that this is not up for discussion.

"Unfortunately, these rules are non-negotiable with the powers that be, and will result in your channel being issued a content ID claim, or worse, a channel strike/account suspension. We don’t want this to happen because of us, so please, heed the rules above."

While story modes in fighting games have slowly been improving over the past few years, BlazBlue has got something of a reputation for their story mode. Combine that with a general curiosity from fans of the crossover series who might want to see what the story’s about without dropping the cash for the full game, it’s not hard to see why the studio is being especially strict this go around.

Still, it’s not very nice.
