Nioh is basically the Japanese version of Dark Souls.  With Dark Souls being such a unique and challenging game, it was hard for most people to take this game seriously at first glance because of its striking resemblance to the Souls series.  Not even a month after launch, Nioh has reached 1 million sales and has received outstanding reviews across the board (87% Metacritic Score).  Sadly Nioh is only available for PS4, so I'll have to stick to Dark Souls for now.  Nevertheless, Nioh is a fresh take on the hardcore action RPG formula.

Publisher Koei Tecmo revealed their sales figures during a press release, in which they also agreed to celebrate the accomplishment by giving the fans a gift.  With the launch of update 1.04 today, all players will be given The Golden Nioh Armor, and they will also be extending the early purchase program of the game to the first of March, giving people who haven't bought the game yet a chance to obtain the Crimson Master armor.

While Nioh has proved to be an extremely brutal, challenging experience, that hasn't stopped speedrunners from making the game look like child play and embarrassing all the casual players.  Speedrunner Distortion2 set the world record for fastest completion of main story mission at just under two hours.  He's recently surpassed that time and still holds the record at approximately eighty-five minutes. If you're interested in testing your skills and resolve in Nioh, then now is the best time to grab it.  Maybe the Crimson Armor will help you....probably not though.
