Yesterday was the final day of operation for Nintendo's 5-year-long social platform, Miiverse. Fans have been saving their favorite posts to save in memorium, while others have been making their final posts to pay tribute. Nintendo gave Miiverse one final hurrah by creating an extremely large mosaic of Miiverse posts thanking the community.

The true image, found here, has the overwhelming size of 10200 x 5760. Be careful viewing the image on mobile phones or weaker computers. If you do look closely at the mosaic, you'll see that the entire image is made of Miiverse posts saying thank you, goodbye, or other various sentiments all in a number of languages. Being able to see the massive number of Nintendo fans who saddened by the closure of Miiverse is one of the more genuine somber feelings I've experienced.

While Miiverse shut down last night, you can still visit the webpage. The only thing that remains is the thank you image and instructions regarding a potential request to download your post history. The download URL to the post history will then be emailed to the email address associated with the account. Due to massive request load, it may take up to five weeks to actually get that email, according to Nintendo.

Currently, Nintendo has no official plans to implement a replacement for Miiverse. The Nintendo Switch has social media integration for the major platforms, at least.

Rest in peace, Miiverse. I will remember you fondly.
