It exceeded expectations by far.

Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice, the psychological thriller developed by Ninja Theory, has gotten an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and fans for being an amazing and accurate representation of living with a mental illness.

In a recent discussion with the chief creative director Tameem Antoniades, he discusses the sales of Hellblade in these last 3 months.

I think its almost broken even, or its about to break even in the next couple of weeks. Id have to check. We werent expecting to break even for six, eight, nine months on this game. It looks like within three months, it will have broken even and then some.

Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice sold almost twice as well as they were expecting. Since Ninja Theory had self-published the game, a larger majority of the money made from sales will go back to them. owning the Intellectual property for this game unlocks plenty of available options moving forward, though nothing has been said regarding future plans yet.

If you haven't played Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice, I recommend it. You can find it on Steam and PS4 for $29.99 and will be well worth your time.
