New Details and Skins Revealed for Apex Legends Season 2

Looking... well... "better".

A lot of things are probably contributing to the sliding popularity of Apex Legends, a game that at one time looked to actually compete with Fortnite. The slow churn of new content is undoubtedly one of the issues, but another more important complication was the fact that existing content wasn’t exactly enticing. Fans have been complaining for a long time now that the skins in the game are rather lame, the battle pass is underwhelming, and even if it was made more interesting the rate in which you level up your pass was so slow and grinding, it’s almost impossible to reasonably reach level 50 with the damn thing, let alone 100.

Respawn seems to have noticed, and with Season 2 right around the corner, they’re teasing some changes and additions to the game that should hopefully be a bit more compelling. For one, they’ve shown off two new skins, one for Bloodhound and one for resident waifu Wraith, which looks actually different enough to be interesting. Secondly, they’re dramatically improving both the loot and the progression of the Season 2 Battle Pass, as now there will be weekly and daily challenges that will help you level up faster, although we shouldn’t expect these challenges to be the kind of game-changing demands we see in Fortnite.

And to make the Season 2 Battle Pass even more enticing, they’re stripping away the voice clips, badges, and stat trackers that you could unlock with the Season 1 Battle Pass, and adding crafting materials, so you’ll only earn stuff you actually care about. You’ll also be earning a legendary item every 25 levels, starting at level 0.

That’s all we know right now, but we should hear more about the “Legendary Hunt LTE” sometime next week. Hopefully that includes more information about the anticipated new champion, Wattson.

But we’ll have to wait and see.
