Hows your flight stick holding up? It may be time to dust it off; a new Ace Combat game is currently in development.

Announced during the Act Combat 25th Anniversary panel (covered by Gematsu), The popular military air combat game is getting a new iteration. Itll be produced by ILCA, the Japanese game studio that helped with Ace Combat 7 and is most recently known for working on the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes releasing soon.

Series producer Kazutoki Kono explained that they sought out ICLA due to the expanding scope of the franchise outreaching their own internal studio.

Project Aces staff will of course continue to be involved in the development of this new project, but as we celebrate 25 years and 3m copies sold, we've come to understand we have many fans of all tastes. Our small team can't handle it all alone, so we're looking to expand the Ace Combat team in a big way.
. . .
That's why we want to form a business alliance with ILCA, who will become more deeply involved in the Ace Combat series than ever before, and create a new Ace Combat. We hope this opportunity will allow us to add even more staff to the Project Aces team.

Unfortunately, thats all we know so far. The title card shown seems generic enough to not represent the upcoming game, and no actual information was provided otherwise. With so little to show, were taking this to mean that the games launch will be a good long while away. Well surely see more as production continues.
