The Netflix video game anime train continues. At present, we've heard about: Castlevania, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, Dragon's Dogma, Tomb Raider, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Beyond good and Evil being given the Netflix treatment, and yesterday yet another game was added to that list. And while I wouldn't call it the most surprising game collaboration we've seen to date (that probably still belongs to Dragon's Dogma, which was terrible), it's certainly a lot less conventional than another Sonic Cartoon.
Introducing DOTA: Dragon's Blood. It's a DOTA 2 anime.
It's been worked on with Valve, but... frankly, it looks a little... conventional? Boring? I dunno, I don't play DOTA 2, so maybe there's something I'm missing, but to my untrained eyes it just kind of looks like your standard fantasy American anime.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the trailer is actually the release date: March 25th. All things considered, this bad boy is right around the corner, which is odd for projects like this. Either it means Valve wanted to keep it a secret... or perhaps neither party has much confidence in it and are trying to avoid much fanfare.
I guess we don't have a long wait to find out.
