Need for Speed Payback to Get Online Free Roam Mode

Well... it probably won't nab newcomers but sounds great anyway.

Need for Speed Payback is doing... well, it's unclear as to how well the title is performing in terms of sales, but with the controversy surrounding loot boxes, as well as the fact that the racing game is filled to the brim with loot boxes, it probably isn't doing fantastic.

But, Need for Speed Payback continues to release updates, and the latest one happens to be online free roam mode. At the time of this writing, you can only roam around with friends while waiting for the lobby to fill before a race, but Ghost Games and EA will expand this as a new mode, so you can roam to your heart's content.

And did I mention that it will be free?

(Honestly, it should be free no matter the case.)

Anyway, the update will arrive sometime later in 2018, and it is still in development. So if you're interested, look forward to it at... some point.
