Monster Hunter World Crosses Over With the Movie

It was kind of inevitable.

Monster Hunter World has become more than the biggest Monter Hunter game in the series. It's also become a platform for Capcom to host crossover events, some of which make more sense than others — teaming up with the Witcher to fight one of his iconic monsters in the world of Monster Hunter? Alright, I can dig it. Punching a bunch of monsters so you can dress up like Ryu? Not quite as compelling.

Still, of all the crossovers that Monster Hunter World has promoted, this latest one arguably makes the most sense: specifically, it's crossing over with itself.

So yeah, they're bringing the hero of the Monster Hunter movie, played by Milla Jovovich, into the Monster Hunter video game. The character Artemis (really friggin' clever naming there, buddies) will also be voiced by Milla Jovovich, which will lend it an air of authenticity. I have to admit seeing someone dressed in more-or-less modern clothes in Monster Hunter is a bit... weird. Maybe not as weird as the Dante outfit, but still pretty weird.

Anyway, the crossover comes with two special events and special rewards, and is free, so, who am I to speak ill? It comes out on December 4.
