Phil Spencer, Xbox One boss over at Microsoft, has been really vocal today! Not only did he comment on how they could make the Xbox One more successful in the Japanese Market, where it has traditionally suffered (spoiler: better games) He also took to Twitter to briefly discuss another issue that's been on his mind when prompted by another user: backwards compatibility.

We haven't ruled it out but we aren't working on it right now. I'd like to find the time to do it.

Now, of the three modern consoles, the Xbox One is easily the "best" as far as backwards compatibility goes, in that it actually has a pretty robust, albeit limited form of backwards compatibility, putting it well ahead of the PS4 and the Wii U. Still, being able to go all the way back to the original Xbox one, birthplace of Halo and that long-admired classic NASCAR 2002, would make goodwill for the Xbox One reach an all-time high.

That said, pulling off such a technical feat would be... difficult, to say the least. It's no surprise they're not working on it, and to be honest, I'd be surprised if they figure out some way to do it at all. Still, a boy can hope, right?

Someday, I'll return to you, NASCAR 2002.

Someday...
