A while back, Microsoft was the center of controversy when they posted an advertisement for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox One, only to have someone claim plagiarism towards a design they created. Now Microsoft has removed the ad and made a statement.

Reddit user macsterr had created the concept image seen here two months before the Microsoft ad. This prompted macsterr to tell the Reddit community about the perceived thievery.

"Remember my Xbox One ad concept? Microsoft just copied it! I'm not saying I own any copyright but the original post has 63k views so I assume they saw it and I got no credits."

The ad has since been taken down, and Xbox frontman Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb made the following statement:

"Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that this is being investigated. In the meantime, our official channels have pulled down the asset in question. I'll follow up with the OP /u/macsterr/ once I get more details."

Whether they intend to compensate macsterr for the design or just brush it under the rug and hope no one notices, I'm sure this caused someone to lose their job.
