If you thought Dying Light was a dark game, then get your flashlight. Dying Light 2 is here, and it looks darker than the first, in more ways than one.

Announced at this year's E3 press conference by Microsoft, Dying Light 2 is the next in the line of parkour, zombie fighting games. Though the focus isn't so much on the undead as the first game but more on the humans left to survive the ordeal. This takes a more serious tone than before.

The event also revealed that narrative designer Chris Avellone will be working on the game. Avellone is well known in the industry for his work on games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Fallout 2. He took the stage to tell the listeners how much their decisions will matter when playing Dying Light 2.

The people you choose to help, the way you choose to help them, and the enemies you choose to make as a result will help form the world around you. Avellone claims that there are hundreds of different ways you can affect your world. The full depth of the feature will likely only be understood after launch, I think.

Dying Light 2 will be coming to the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 at an unspecified date.
