There's a water festival event going on in Pokemon Go right now thats celebrating water Pokemon of all kinds. Big and small, weak and Powerful, it's time to celebrate and acknowledge all water Pokemon. Magikarp is well known as Pokemon's training dummy, until of course he makes his transformation. He's the Pokemon you made fun of in high-school and ended up regretting it when you saw him as an adult. Magikarp quickly becomes one of the most powerful water Pokemon when you evolve him into Gyrados, and now Pokemon Go players have a new reason to go and farm Magikarp again.

As part of the new water festival event, Pokemon Go has finally introduced the first shiny variant into the game. That's right, shiny Magikarp. Why are people going crazy for shiny Magikarp. Well, shiny Pokemon in general are tipicly very rare and very saught after. Shiny Variants give the Pokemon an entirely new look, and also completely change the color of the Pokemon once they evolve. Why is shiny Magikarp so special? Well, if you're a seasoned Pokemon player then you know that shiny Magikarp evolved into the highly coveted red Gyrados.

Pokemon Players all around the world are going out to catch the golden Makikarp. This new water festival event has made finding water Pokemon much easier, no matter what area you live in. While catching a golden Magikarp in Pokemon Go is much easier than the hand-held games, the discovery rate is still about 1/220. You're definitely going to have to put in some hard work.

This water themed event ends on March 29th at 4 p.m ET, so if you're at all interested in getting a golden Magikarp and a red Gyrados, you better get outside and put in some miles. Goodluck trainers!
