According to a report by GI.biz, Kojima Productions has launched a new division in LA dedicated to bringing their intellectual properties into film, TV, and music. The department will be led by ex-Playstation exec by Riley Russel, who aims to use other media formats to expand awareness of the companys content.
The team has as its charter, the goal of expanding the reach and awareness of the properties now under development at Kojima Productions, and to make them even more a part of our popular culture.
. . .
We are truly excited and looking forward to working with the very best entertainment talent we can, across all of the entertainment industries.
This really aligns with Kojimas general business style. Death Stranding utilized a number of aspects from other media sources, such as real-world music albums and using real-world actors as a part of the game. They had big name actors playing lead roles, while bands like CHVRCHES made original songs for the game. The interest in cross-production was always there. They're just committing to the idea deeper now.
At the moment, theres no confirmed plans for the new division. But well likely hear more in the coming months.Stay tuned
