IO Interactive, the people behind the new Hitman games, have had quite a bit of success in spite of Square Enix dropping them earlier. It was a nearly catastrophic turn of events, if you recall, but they bounced back and now they are downright flourishing -- not only releasing the critically acclaimed Hitman 2, but now by opening up a second studio in Malmö, Sweden.

CEO Hakan Abrak had this to say:

“We are super excited and proud to announce IOI Malmö. We will expand IOI to join a buzzling game developer community and bring our own unique IOI culture to this amazing town… Furthermore, this will expand our muscles for creating brand-new and exciting endeavours, new universes, new franchises. In other words, IOI Malmö and Copenhagen are one family”. The IOI expansion in Malmö was a natural choice as there is a very strong existing video game industry. I believe it has all opportunities to become the epicentre of game development in Scandinavia.”

Opening a new studio is a pretty damn big deal, especially for a smaller team like IO interactive. Hopefully, they aren’t biting off more than they can chew with this one…

Regardless, a new office means new seats to fill. If you’re interested in trying to join their team, you can check out the available jobs at the link above.
