Announced on the Ikea website, the Gaming Collection is a new set of items based around video games and the enjoyment of such. Theyre not handling it alone. To ensure its done right, theyve teamed up with Republic of Gamers over the design and development. Kris Huang, General Manager of the ASUS Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit, had this to say.
Gamers globally know and love the Republic of Gamers brand and they trust it to deliver the most exciting gaming innovations in the market, Our new partnership with the experts at IKEA will allow Republic of Gamers to find new and interesting ways to delight gamers in and around the home.
One point they emphasize about the line is affordability. They made it clear that they arent trying to create expensive, high-tech options, but offer something more economical.

We believe theres a lot to be done to democratize the gaming experience. Now we take the first step on our gaming journey, and we do it by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products and complete solutions that we hope reflect peoples personality and taste.
While the full line itself was not listed, they did mention things like chairs, desk, and accessories. We wouldnt be surprised if headphone stands are included, too. The Gaming Collection line is set to release globally in October.
Personally, we kind of love this. Gaming-centric items like these are often very dramatic and overpriced compared to non-stylized products of the same quality. Plenty of times, weve heard how a business chair is just as good as a gamer chair (just dont look at the Secret Lab gamer chair were currently using). But we also admit that the style and vibe is appealing. The idea of having gamer-style furniture without breaking the bank sounds nice. We just hope they measure up when the time comes.
