Crytek USA, obviously a little too impatient to wait a week until E3, has decided to go ahead and reveal their latest game, HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age.  And I have to sayit looks really dang interesting from the first trailer weve been treated to.

Think Left 4 Dead set in the post-civil war south. HUNT: Horrors of the Guilded Age is set place in the 19th century, and follows four hunters as they try to, well, hunt the supernatural horrors of their time that live just at the edge of civilization. CEO of Crytek USA Corp David Adams had this to say:

In HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we've created. From the outset of the development process, we've poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays HUNT will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities."

One of the more predominantly advertised features is a that most of the game will be procedurally generated. Meaning you never travel through exactly the same environments or the same set of enemeies twice.  No memorizing positions of monsters or set-piecesthe game promises to make you think fast to adapt to whatever terrors will be around the next corner.  He also says the bosses, which will also spawn randomly, will require close coordination and maybe even some puzzle solving.

...so weve got elements of Evolve in there too.  So yeah, its not exactly groundbreaking, but I am a sucker for the time period and a lot of the people who worked on Darksiders (and the now gone THQ, RIP) are working on this project, so I felt it deserved a little love.  Were told we can learn more at this years E3.
