Hitman, the well-known stealth game series, is very much alive. The official Hitman Twitter posted a teaser with the intention of introducing new content in ten days, with an accompanying image detailing the announcement date to be October 24th at 2pm CST. To avoid confusion, we are referring to the 2016 iteration, simply called Hitman.

Hitman is developed by Danish company IO Interactive. While it was previously published by Eidos Interactive and Square Enix, IO Interactive bought themselves out from Square Enix to become a properly independent studio earlier this year while retaining the rights to the Hitman name.

Presumably in relation to this, IO Interactive reported having to initiate a number of layoffs. This left a level of uncertainty towards the studio's future in games, especially the long-loved Hitman series.

This announcement is a reassurance to the vitality of IO Interactive and an exciting surprise for those invested in Hitman. Be sure to check back here on October 24 for the details relating to this content.
