Just when you think every gamer worldwide owned Grand Theft Auto V, you're surprised with more news of gargantuan sales.

Case in point, the amount of copies of GTAV sold in the UK alone during the coronavirus lockdown.

According to the Entertainment Retailers Association's data for the time period of March 23 to June 13, GTA V sold a whopping 438,902 copies in the UK. Just imagine how many copies sold worldwide in the same time period!

However, it did not take the top spot in the lockdown sales chart, which featured 21 games, 16 videos, and three music albums. In the video game category the top spot belonged to FIFA 20 (understandable, considering this is the UK), followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Other titles in the list included:

NBA 2K20, Monopoly Plus, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Sims 4, Resident Evil 3, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Uno, Red Dead Redemption 2, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Just Dance 2020, Forza Horizon 4, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Football Manager 2020, and Spider-Man.

It's still astonishing to see Grand Theft Auto V continuously sold at hefty amounts, considering the fact that it's been out for almost seven years and it sold at record numbers then. Even then, there were likely millions who snagged a free copy of the title on the Epic Games Store.

So what do you think? Are you surprised by the numbers? Let us know in the comments!
