In case you didn’t know, there was an attack in Manchester last weekend, which claimed the lives of 22 people and injured 59 when a bomb went off in Manchester Arena just after an Ariana Grande concert. It’s a horrible tragedy that’s touched the lives of millions, and thus, it’s a matter that has to be treated with respect, especially now. Fortunately, Bandai Namco is doing exactly that and has announced that it’s going to postpone the release of The Farm 51’s latest game, Get Even, for a month in response to the attack. In a prepared statement:

“Given recent events and out of respect we have decided to postpone the commercial release of Get Even to June 23rd. We would like to express our deepest condolences to everyone concerned.”

In Get Even, you wake up in a run-down asylum, with just a cell phone and a handgun, and are tasked with “getting even” with someone, but who and for what are unclear, as you have amnesia. In the course of the game, you save a young girl while escaping strange people hunting them down.

It’s easy to see why this premise might be tasteless given recent events, and a month’s wait is a good way to avoid any controversy.

We can certainly endure a month for this promising title. There are more important things to worry about.
