Square Enix has announced that on Tuesday, November 28th, the release date for their new game Final Fantasy XV, over 5 million copies of the game were sold worldwide. These day one sales have made FFXV the fastest selling title in the entire Final Fantasy series. I knew that the hype for this game was pretty high, but 5 million copies in one day really took me by surprise. The most digital copies of Final Fantasy XV were sold in Japan, while Asia (excluding Japan) was responsible for the majority of the physical sales.

As far as other regions go, there haven't been too many details revealed, but the game is performing quite well. Personally, I was a huge Final Fantasy fan back around Final Fantasy X, but this one didn't really seem to catch my interest. I guess my opinion seems to be the minority here, but I'm glad that people are getting a title they're very excited about. This has been a huge title for a long time, and now that release day has come and gone, the world will never have to live a day without Final Fantasy XV.
