And fairly large too.

Final Fantasy XV, the game-of-the-year contender for 2016, has made its way to mobile devices, of all places. It's called Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition.

Final Fantasy 15 is a game known for its beautiful graphics, lengthy campaign, and powerful narrative. It was the first 2 items that made it surprising to hear that the game was being ported to iOS and Android. The graphical aspect has been resolved by converting the game's entirety into chibi style simple graphics.

What about the story?

Of course, I'd never download a 50gb app on my phone. Such an idea is outrageous, to say the least. The simpler graphics help reduce this size immensely, but there is still a lot to see in any final fantasy game, and even more to hear. All that story adds up. For mobile devices, that seems to equate to about 0.5gb per chapter. You download each chapter individually, totaling to 7.5gb in the end. That's still extremely hefty.

Ready for the hard news?

The first chapter of the game can be played for free, with chapter 2 costing $1.48. Alternatively, you can purchase chapters 2-10 for $28.98.

We shouldn't be too surprised. Square Enix has a history of pricing mobile games as if they were console/PC games. Something that the market isn't very fond of.

If interested, you can find Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition on the App Store, Google Play, and Amazon App.
