Don't worry, you also have superpowers.

Theres a terrible danger to vampires. With all the intelligence of the modern man, but with you being their primary form of prey. Having to fight off hundreds of them sounds even worse. At least you have superpowers. Thats the idea behind Redfall, a new co-op survival shooter by Arkane.

Announced during the Xbox Bethesda E3 showcase on Sunday, the reveal trailer follows four young adults as they attempt to document and sneak past a group of cultists. Society around them appears to be no more, and strange lights are emanating from the cult group. The group notices them and they begin to swarm towards them violently. Its discovered that the cult is a group of vampires with strange powers. The team of young adults reveal to have their own supernatural powers and use them to dispatch the attackers.

Redfall is being developed by Arkane Studios, the team known for games like Dishonored and Prey. While multiplayer isnt something the team has dived into before, theyre track record gives us faith that theyre capable of something that is enjoyable both narratively and through gameplay.

Based on recent trends, were thinking that this is another Left 4 Dead-Like. A co-op shooter against a horde of enemies with short, replayable campaigns and a combination of horror and quirky humor. Similar games include Back 4 Blood, Rainbow Six: Extraction, and The Anacrusis. It seems to be a popular game type lately and Redfall appears to fit the same bill, not that it's a bad thing.

An official release date was not given, just a window of Summer 2022. When it does release, itll be available on PC, Xbox, and as an Xbox Game Pass option on launch.
