Fallout 76 Details 2022 Dev Roadmap, Brings Back The Pitt, Nuka-World, Aliens

Mostly as public events, really.

Bethesda remains hard at work on keeping Fallout 76 an ever evolving experience. And with their recently posted 2022 Roadmap, we can see that they dont intend to slow down soon.

What started out as a rough launch, the multiplayer apocalypse RPG has seen update after update, adding new a slew of new content over the years. The official Fallout Twitter recently posted their development plans for the following year, which introduces 4 major updates for the game. Lets break them down.

Spring - Invaders From Beyond

Save Appalachia from an otherworldly, all-encompassing invasion including Public Event takeovers, new random encounters, a new seasonal Public Event, and more!

The theming here is obvious: aliens are coming. With the Flatwoods monster being extraterrestrial in nature and with the past games history of having aliens, we can take a strong guess what this will be like. But since it's not mission-based and only public events, we expect this to be a generic experience.

Spring will also come with an update to Fallout Worlds, and the start of Season 8 - A Better Life Underground. Were assuming this will be a very Vault Tec themed season.

Summer - Test Your Metal

Put your armor, weapons, and grit to the test in multiple new heart-pounding Public Events.

Were not sure if this is robot themed or just intended to portray a very difficult experience. The flavor text implies the latter. Either way, its definitely something for the hardcore players looking for a challenge with their ultra-legendary gear.

Summer will also bring upgrades to the Fallout 1st Scoreboard and the beginning of Season 9, which has not been named.

Fall - Expeditions: The Pitt

Venture beyond the boundaries of Appalachia on missions to the lethal location known only as, The Pitt.

A nice proper Expedition. This references the popular DLC from Fallout 3, so we expect a similar vibe and experience. This is the meaty content that we expect most players are waiting for. It will have introducing missions and new rewards.

Fall will also have Season 10, which has not been named.

Winter - Nuka-World On Tour

The Fizziest Show on Earth has kicked the irradiated dust off the tires and hit the road. Next stop Appalachia!

Referencing the DLC from Fallout 4 (all of the updates seem to reference past DLC), this looks like they're taking the soda-based Disney parody and converting it into a traveling show/circus. The beauty of Nuka World was the satirical humor in the environment. We hope that isnt lost in this. The update will introduce new public events and a new region boss event.

And of course, Season 11 will start at this time. No, it doesnt have a name.
