QuakeCon started all the way back in 1996 and were now entering the third decade of this iconic event, but 2017 will be quite different than the previous events. QuakeCon 2017 is taking place between April 24-27 at The Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Centre in Grapevine, Texas. Just outside of Dallas, the Gaylord hosted QuakeCon back in 2009. Sadly, due to QuakeCon's unique venue requirements, BYOC space will be quite smaller than usual. While this is not ideal, it's been confirmed that QuakeCon 2018 will be the biggest event in QuakeCon history, so I think we can live with a little less space this year.

While it may not be the most ideal QuakeCon to date, it still has the potential to be a great event like the previous ones. This year, they've improved upon the already amazing BYOC experience with new competitive programming and over $50,000 in cash prizes for the BYOC attendees and competitors. QuakeCon 2017 will include a newly improved eSports experience, cosplay, tabletop games and much more. On top of everything, this year has the potential to be the most Iconic QuakeCon event yet with the newly released information about Quake Champions. I think we can look forward to some juicy news about Quake Champions at this year's event.

If you're planning on attending QuakeCon this year, don't hesitate to pre-register as soon as possible and save yourself a slot. Here is all the information you need to pre-register for QuakeCon 2017.

This year, they've also upgraded the previous UAC ticket package into the UAC Executive VIP experience. The changes to this year's package include the following:

New for 2017!  Membership in our QuakeCon UAC Acolyte program, which includes access to register for next years UAC experience before open online registration begins
New for 2017!  Access to new UAC Executive Lounge in the heart of the QuakeCon BYOC, featuring meet-and-greet and signing events with developers.
New for 2017!  Upgrade a QuakeCon attendee registration to join as a +1 for all express-lane and limited access events.
